BCBSKS Providers - BlueExchange electronic remittance advices are only available for Medicare Crossover claims processed by Blue Plans other than BCBSKS. These are also referred to as Blue Cross and Blue Shield Secondary to Medicare claims.
The completed form will be used by ASK EDI to enroll your Billing NPI with BlueExchange. BlueExchange will load and share your Billing NPI with all Out of Area Blue Plans. When a Medicare Crossover 835 is available from an Out of Area Blue Plan a BlueExchange Medicare Crossover 835 will be available, in your Trading Partner "Outbound" folder for download and posting with a file name of KSBX*.*. Once your enrollment has been processed you will no longer receive the paper remittance advice from Out of Area Blue Plans. This process can take up to three weeks to complete.
By signing up for the BlueExchange Medicare Crossover 835's you will need to contact your software vendor and clearinghouse advising them you will be receiving an additional 835 transactions from BCBSKS. The file name begins with KSBX*.* For your reference this is noted on page 9 of the Companion Guides - Remittance Advice (835).
At anytime you may choose to dis-enroll in the BlueExchange Medicare Crossover 835 initiative by simply completing this form selecting 'Cancel'. Once your cancel request has been processed you will no longer receive BlueExchange Medicare Crossover 835 and you will begin to receive paper remittance advice from the Out of Area Blue Plan. This process can take up to three weeks to complete.
This process does not impact your regular business BCBSKS 835's.
NOTE: Paper remittance advices for Medicare Crossover claim are only available through the BCBS plan that adjudicated the claim. Medicare Crossover remittance advice are not available by signing on to Availity and going through BlueAccess.
